Nobody lives a perfect life

The perfect life only comes true in dreams, a make-believe reality. And the next best thing we can do with our life is to accept our imperfections and make the most out of it. Life is short so live it to the fullest.

Fish & Co. Restaurant

Fish & Co. - Trinoma Mall
4012 M4 Level, Trinoma Mall, Quezon City
(02) 916-2028, (02) 916-0105

I have passed by this restaurant for a number of times already because I stroll around in Trinoma often but since I am not much of a fish lover, I wasn't really drawn to it. Not until Holy Monday of this year.

Being a Catholic, I am used to abstaining from meat during the observance of the Holy Week and this year was no exception. Kim and I were supposed to meet for breakfast that day but since I didn't want to end up eating fish fillet at McDonald's, I suggested Fish & Co. at Trinoma.

Inside the restaurant
Since we arrived at a little past 10am, we had the restaurant for ourselves for the first hour. The wait staff were courteous and efficient.

While choosing items from the menu, we were served a pitcher of water with lime and a thin slice of cucumber. We were joking about what it was and even came to the point of asking out waiter but in the end, Kim decided to just agree with me that it was a thin slice of cucumber. Hehe. :)

The menu

I was so happy to find out that the food items they offer are not limited to fish and seafoods only. They also have meat dishes, pizza, and burgers. But since Holy Week started already, we decided to stick with the "fish diet".

Wooden "patungan"

All tables have this fish-shaped wooden "patungan" which I thought was really cute. All the food served were placed on top of this so I guess it also served as a place mat of some sort. Hehe :)

Mango shake for me and Melon shake for Kim
For our drinks, we both decided to have shakes. Nothing extraodinary about it, really.

The best fish & chips in town

This dish lives up to its name. The lemon butter sauce that topped the fish complemented the fish really well. The fish was so soft and tasty. Truly the best fish and chips we've ever tasted! <3

Prawns Fettucine with Chili Cream Sauce

Unfortunately, the fettucine pasta was not available at that time so I just advised them to replace it with spaghetti noodles. I love spicy food so the chili cream sauce was very appealing to me and the pasta was cooked just right.

Teriyaki Salmon

A must try dish! The salmon was cooked just right. The teriyaki sauce was complemented the fish and the rice well.

Our healthy feast :)

Of course I had to take a photo of all our food. Yummy, right? :)

And to cap the experience, here's our photo together <3

C2 Classic Cuisine

The menu

C2 Classic Cuisine3/F SM Megamall Atrium, Julia Vargas Ave cor EDSA Wack Wack, Mandaluyong(02) 470-1152
The restaurant offers FIlipino cuisine and is a safe choice for people who have a craving for "lutong bahay" dishes.
I wasn't able to take photos of the restaurant itself but it was clean and it has its own restroom. :)

Buko pandan shake
We both decided to have the Buko Pandan shake. Apparently, Kim likes shakes like me but he would have been ecstatic if there had been melon shake on the menu. Hehe :)
It was refreshing. Well, anything with milk and ice is good for me. I love the pandan flavor, the coconut meat, and the jelly cubes.

Laing

We ordered Laing: gabi leaves with ground pork, bagoong, and coconut cream. Since I am part Bicolana, I am used to eating spicy food and I like anything with coconut cream. So I must say that I really appreciated this dish.

Grilled liempo sinigang

The soup was sour, the way a sinigang should taste and the liempo was grilled just right. A must try dish.

We really did not order a lot but next time, we would definitely try the other food items in the resto.

Second date

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take any pictures of our first date at A Veneto Pizzeria in TriNoma since it was the first time that we saw each other again after more than 15 years. I was still too shy to have our picture taken together but I vowed that the next time we went out, I'll have at least one photo. :)

March 16, 2013

Kim volunteered to accompany me on my tiangge shopping spree at St. Francis Square. (I'll post an entry about this the next time I visit the place.)

We had lunch first at C2 Classic Cuisine at SM Megamall. (I'll post another review on this restaurant).

Our first photo together :)
After that, we proceeded to my agenda for that Saturday. I was thankful because he was so patient while I searched all the aisles of the tiangge to look for some comfortable clothes for summer.

The highlight of that day was when he accompanied me to make my first lotto bet. Yes, I know I am a loser. Haha! I thought it was complicated but I must say that it was quite easy.

The lotto stand at St. Francis Squares
This is where you get your "ticket"

Our ticket

You have to shade your "lucky numbers" on the ticket. Each box costs Php20 and we decided to do 3 combinations. I got the 1st box. Kim got the 2nd box. The 3rd box was a combination of our "lucky numbers". We had three numbers in common: 5, 9, and 19. We paid Php30 for this.

The official lotto ticket

This would have been the winning lotto ticket if we got the winning numbers but we didn't so I just kept it for sentimental reasons.

We got so hungry after the activities at St. Francis so we decided to stop by Sbarro at Megamall to grab a quick bite.

I ordered a slice of white pizza and baked ziti. :) Sorry Kim, can't remember what pizza you ordered. Hehe :)

I had a really great time that day and it was just the start of many more Saturdates. :)

Reviving my blog

I've been on a blogging hiatus for a relatively long time but because of my boyfriend's encouragement, I am reviving my blog. :)

I'll be sharing a lot of restaurant reviews since this is the activity that we are both involved with at the moment. Haha! I guess that's really how it is when you're in love and you share the same passion that is called eating - you grow big together. :)

So there. I hope I'll get suggestions from my co-bloggers on where to eat or what places to visit.

Happy reading to all! :)
